Whatsapp mod won't open the whatsapp tab in browser
- Posted by Healthlogics (2) Offline
Hi,
I installed the whatsapp module and the issue i'm having is when people in browser click to send message, with whatsapp already open in another tab, still get the message "it looks like you don't have whatsapp installed" and when you click the barely noticable link to open in brpwser it opens a new tab and closes your previously open whatsapp connection.
Am I missing something obvious or did I go wrong somewhere?
Thank you,
Nico

Hi, Really sorry for delay in responding. I missed your post.
Anyway, I'm unable to replicate your problem. Please see this screencast www.dropbox.com/s%2Fu8gulj9b3sbswa6%2Fwaag.mp4?raw=1
The module works properly even I have whatsapp web opened in other tab.
Anyway, I'm unable to enter your admnistrator page because it's protected by htaccess

Hi,
As you can see in your movie, the whatsapp tab doesn't switch. It opens up in your site tab.
That might not be an issues even as long as after you hit Send, it does what you hope. Yet your movie doesn't show you hitting Send. This is where you get the message
" Looks like you don't have WhatsApp installed!
DOWNLOAD
or
use WhatsApp Web" which opens a new tab and closes your whatsapp connection in previous tab.

Hi, unfortunately this something beyond our control. Whatsapp controls the flow once after user forwarded to their api page and then click the send button.
I notice there are indeed experience differences when using different OS or browser, and this is completely controlled by Whatsapp or OS / browser.
Anyway this is what I got when hit the send button :

I can click the use here button then the chat sesion will be switched to the desktop app.
