Related Items Extended - not respecting access control
- Posted by Basil Clarke (7) Offline
HI, I've been using Related Items Extended for a while, but have just noticed that when I'm logged off the front end it includes at least one article that shouldn't be showing.
The access control level for public viewing is 1, this particular article has access control level 11, which is accessible only by the Webmaster group - which comes under Superuser in the hierarchy. Clicking on the link to the full article correctly brings up a message to say that you're blocked, so access control for the article is working properly.

Hi, I have re-tested it on my localhost but unable to replicate your issue. Please have a look on this screencast video below.
Am I missing something?

HI,
Thanks for your reply.
I've tried various access settings for the article, but it still shows up in Related Items Extended when not logged in. It's a mystery.
Is there an easy way for me to edit the query in the helper.php file so that it only finds articles where the access id is 1?
Cheers
Basil

Hi tocnaza, not sure why that happened because I can't replicate it. Anyway we're going to release a major update for related extended module soon. Hopefully this will fix the issue
