Minifrontpagepro for K2 Thumbnail doesn't show

Unfortunately I don't know, the site is in production and I can't make changes to the templates.
If needed, I can do a local test. But it is not clear to me why the default thumbnail file is created? The "Show Default Thumbnail" option is set to HIDE on all modules.

The xx_xx_default.jpg is generated only when the module can't find any image on the article. Is the xx_xx_default.jpg generated everytime you add new article?

No, the xx_xx_default.jpg is not generated everytime I add new article.
I didn't understand why it only happens sometimes. The images uploaded in the news are always of type jpg in 16: 9 format, of similar size.

Really strange.
So the flow is :
1. You add a new article
2. Thumbnail is generated correctly and no issue happen.
3. But sometimes xx_xx_default.jpg is generated and then thumbnail is not displayed. Then you delete the xx_xx_default.jpg then the tumbnail is re-generated (the correct thumbnail) and the problem is solved.

Is it correct?

Yes it's correct.

My workaround, right now, is a cron job that deletes all files with "default" suffix every hour on /images/thumbnails/mod_minifrontpageprok2
