Related Items Extended: Showing wrong articles?
- Posted by Tal DITYE (14) Offline
Hello -
A new issue with Related Items Extended (plugin version 1.0.1, module version 2.3.0, xtd version 1.1.1).
The related items are showing the wrong articles. The only way that it works if if I clear Joomla cache, and then the first article I load shows for all other articles. For example:
1. Clear joomla cache
2. Load a page related to CARS. related items show correctly.
3. Load a page related to BIKES. related items show for the CARS article.
Whichever article I load first after clearing Joomla cache, shows in all other articles as related. The cache settings in the module are set to "no caching" and cache time is 0.
Any insights?
Thanks!

I think I figured it out.
Joomla system cache settings (ON - progressive or conservative) are overriding this module's cache settings. It is also overriding cache settings for other modules (such as breadcrumbs).
So even if you set the module's cache settings to no caching and cache time 0, whatever you have Joomla set to will override that setting. Is there any way to get around this, other than turning off Joomla system caching?

Yes, I had figured it out. I guess the bigger question is why this module's caching settings are bound to joomla caching settings, rather than independent?
