Hi, it's probably because you set the thumbnail size to be larger than the actual image size in the article. Minifrontpage uses the standard Joomla class JImage to process images, and JImage generates a blurry image when the image settings are larger than the actual image. There's an explanation about this in the documentation.pdf. Have you read it?
