MiniFrontpage (Free, Pro) without B/C plugin

Hello,
On my website MiniFrontpage is the only extention for which I need to activate the B/C compatibility plugin.
Do you have plans to update MiniFrontpage (Pro) so that the B/C plugin can be switched off?
Proposal:
It is not that complicated (I have done it more often), and I could help you with it (for MiniFrontpage Free, because I do not have the PRO version).
In case I have the PRO version, I can also help you with that.

Best regards,
Peter

Hi Peter, Yes, I do plan to work on it. Hopefully by the end of this week I will take a closer look at the possible options. If you could share some guidelines on how you approached on this, that would be very helpful. Thanks

Start with using the component JED Checker extensions.joomla.org/extension/jedchecker/ ) in Joomla and upload the minifrontpage.
Under "Joomla Framework deprecated and unsafe" you see the necessary modifications.
When that is done, the B/C can be switched of.

To make it a native J5 extension, the namespacing and services provider had to be added.
Look in Joomla documentation how that can be done. (I can also do it for you).

Peter

Hi Peter, I have updated both Minifrontpage (Free and Pro) to support J5 without the BC plugin

That's great news!
It works perfectly on my test website without B/C plugin.
Thank you!!

Next step is to make it a native extension with namespacing and a dispatcher class. See the examples in the module directory.
It is not that difficult and it will makes the module ready for the future.
