How to prevent 'empty' banners?

How can I prevent a number of 'empty' banners from appearing in the banner slider (at the end)? See www.mooibarradeel.nl under 'Boekentips'.

Hi, it looks like you're using a banner with custom code, right? For the empty item section, is that supposed to be a banner? Have you tried grouping the banners into a single category and then loading only that category through the module?
