Latest News change date to show when published

I was wondering if its possible to change the date to show when the article was published instead of created.

Hi, open this file [root]/modules/mod_latestnewsplusdate/tmpl/default.php
find this code (exist in about 12 positions in that file) :

$item->created

change that with

$item->publish_up
