Related Items Extended: Select related articles based on same category?

Dear support,

I'm consider buying your module "Related Items Extended".
I love the fancy visualization, but I have lazy content editors on my site. I know, they won't edit meta keywords to the articles they write.
So I need to know, whether the module is able to select related articles only based on the currently shown article's category.

If that is possible (maybe in combination to meta keywords), I will buy you extension...

Regards,
Sascha.

Hi sascha, Unfotunately it doesn't support category. It only supports meta keyword and tags (for joomla 3.x)

Hello.
It must to support Category. I just saw it after installing and testing. I have some categories which should not be visible, now I don't have control over it - result: Uninstalled and now, search for another solution.

Regards.

Hi all, sorry but please keep in mind we're just extending function of joomla built-in related items module. To make it an item not visible, isn't you can simply deleting the associated meta keywords or tag?

Hi!
Please, don't get me wrong. The module is fantastic as it is, but the option to include and/or exclude categories is a must. Yes, we can delete the meta tags, but imagine doing it in a site where hundreds of users publish their own articles? For now, I've deleted the meta tags, because it is still managable. But I'd say that you should take it in consideration for the next update. Charge a little bit more if you think that it will really be a pain in the neck to implement, but consider doing it.

This module, the way it is today, is the best of any other in terms of layout and control, and the price is great too - so, if you add this feature, you will be unbeatable.

In the next few days I'm gonna make a review on JED and give a 5 stars, but if you say that you at least will think about adding this, it will be definitely a 5 stars with honors.

Best Regards.
