Mini K2 - vary size of intro text?

I love the MiniK2 extension! I feel the coolness of the masonry effect is the ability to tile items of varying heights. Right now all of my items show the same height.

Is there a way to make it so the word limit of the intro-text is random between 2 numbers? Or to set a class name that is used to display the text instead of a word count?

I don't mind getting into the code if you can advise where I could make such a change.
