POP Login crashed site
- Posted by Sandybee (3) Offline
Hi I'm using a gantry & template on my Joomla 2.5 website.
I loaded pop login slotted it into place, everything worked fine. Today I can't get into the site. The site is under development at the moment. The login crashed the site can't get in backend or frontend. Tried Config.php login trick. It broke something. I really don't wanna reload all the data on the site.
How can I remove the Module and all traces of it via Cpanel backend so I can get the site open again?

Hi sandy, I visited your website and looks like everything is fine (but I can't login because the username and password you've entered are not correct).
Technically to delete a joomla module manually, you just need to delete its folder (you can do that via ftp connection or cpanel)

Yes It says username and password is incorrect. That is exactly the problem.
Username an Password is correct. Check the config.php file also, you will see there. I saved the login details and have been using it for the setup. After I installed the POP login it does not read the username and password. I created another account on there also before I installed the pop login. Same with that account.
I suspect it has to do with a custom form building tool I installed. I'll try to take the login pop off via FTP and see if I can access the site then.
I can send a detailed list of all the plugins installed into the site as I have been keeping a detailed listing for the client.
I really like the Pop login, shame that it's not working for me

Hi, It's not related to pop login module. Please open this page : www.xxxxxx.co.za/index.php?option=com_users&view=login then try to login. It will return similar error message (incorrect password)

Thank you.
That is the problem, not being able to log in front or back-end. With either of the two accounts I created. The usernames and passwords were saved in files I created documenting construction steps. The passwords and usernames were used prior to pop login module installation. Pop- Login was the last bit I installed on Sunday as an afterthought, (The other modules were installed a week prior), to save space for the custom template design I'm busy with.
I deleted pop login, problem still there so you might be right.
I'm going to trash the site and rebuild following steps for current build. Will let you know if the new site does the same thing.
I really hope not I think the pop login is an amazing space saving device.
Thank you for you prompt response, much appreciated!

Hi Sandy, Poplogin is just a module. it was created based on joomla built in login module. It doesn't have anyhing related with Joomla user / login system.
Please let me know when the problem persists after the rebuild
