xtypo conflicts with Caption plugin using JCE editor

Using J 2.5 with JCE Editor 2.3.4.4. Just purchased xTypo Button plugin and installed it along with xTypo plugin. Configured it according to documentation which required modifying 2 settings in JCE Editor. After configuration opened an article and xTypo button seemed to work fine.

I then opened a couple of other articles and wanted to change the caption settings for a couple of images in the JCE editor>Insert/Edit Caption plugin (allows user to add captions to images in an article). This had been working fine before xTypo button installation. Changes to settings appeared fine in JCE editor. Upon saving the article I refreshed the browser and looked at the article. Caption settings had not been applied and the formatting was completely off. Reopened the article and looked ant the caption settings and saw that they had not been applied as I had input them. Tried a couple of more times and even deleted the caption and re-inserted it. Saved articles, checked the article in the browser but still had same isssue.

I disabled both the xTypo and xTypo Button plugins, returned the settings in JCE Editor to what they had been prior to modifying them for use with xTypo. I then opened articles and used the Caption plugin to modify existing image captions or create new ones. Upon saving and viewing those articles everything looked as it should. Problem gone.

Any idea what the conflict between xTypo and JCE Editor Caption could be caused by? As stated above Caption plugin was working fine until I modified the two JCE Editor settings as described below.
Added span[class] to Extended Elements field in editor profile>editor parameters>advanced.
Changed setting - JCE Editor -> Global Configuration, in the section Formatting & Display change the Editor Style dropdown to Custom CSS Files and fill the Custom CSS Fiels field with templates/$template/css/editor.css
I have attached a few screenshots that show what the JCE editor Caption window looked like before and after xTypo Button install and also how article looked in browser (FF 28) before and after xTypo Button install

If I'm unable to resolve this issue I will not be able to use the xTypo Button plugin which I purchased.

Hi Highcounter,
I just found recently that adding span[class] to Extended Elements field seems no longer needed for JCE. Can you try to remove that span[class] from Extended Elements field and let me know whether this is works or not?

I'll give it a try and let you know the result. Assume I still need to add the other item to the JCE configuration: templates/$template/css/editor.css. Is that correct?

OK, did not enter span[class] in JCE editor configuration after re-enabling xTypo and Xtypo Button plugins. That seems to have fixed the issue with the Caption plugin in JCE not working properly.

Now I'm dealing with not being able to make changes to the default theme in Xtypo work. I go into the Extensions -> Plug-in Manager ->Content - XTypo and in the Basic Options dropdown I change the theme from default to darko or lyto or any of the other ones and save the plugin. Upon opening an article with Xtypo buttons being used they are the same as the default theme. If I create a new button it still looks like the default theme even though I have changed the theme. This is all using the Button 1 option. Any suggestions? Also, is there anywhere to see what the various themes available look like as you can when looking at the documentation for Xtypo (bottom of page - Changing Xtypo Theme)? That just shows the default theme.

Changing the theme will affects the frontpage styles only. Style on the WYSIWYG editor will still remain. If you want to change the looks of editor styles too you have to copy the related theme css to your active template editor.css

Also, is there anywhere to see what the various themes available look like as you can when looking at the documentation for Xtypo (bottom of page - Changing Xtypo Theme)? That just shows the default theme.

You can look look at here :

So in order to see the actual style of each theme in the JCE WYSIWYG I have to add each theme's style.css to the editor.css, then change the theme in the plugin parameters? Is this correct? Also is it possible to combine styles in one article. For instance, add Button 1 in the default style and then use the lyto style for a info bar? Would I just set Xtypo style as default for the Button 1, save the article, go to the Xtypo plugin parameters and change the theme to lyto, reopen the article and add the info bar?

Thanks for clarification of how to view examples of the themes. I just didn't pay enough attention when I was on the Xtypo page so missed the link to view them. Also appreciate your help with getting this to work.:)
