Umm It's not something need to fix I think, but it's the way the module calculates the items to show.
The module need the first row of the next page to be fullfilled first to make the module displaying the next page.

Let say you have setting like this :

Num of columns = 3
Num of rows = 2
So the 1st page will display 6 (2x3) items.
To make the second showed you need to have at least 9 published articles, because you need 3 items to make the first row in the second page full filled (6+3 = 9)

The problem is while I do not publish the next line does not appear the rest. This I believe is wrong.
