mini fontpage not redirecting link to same page module is on???

hello, having an issue with mini frontpage. for some reason it will not open the link on the same page as the module. instead it opens the article link on a new page with no modules. mini frontpage does not offer the option to enter a menu item id becuase it redirects to the page that its on automatically. any ideas how i can resolve this issue. thanks
