Xtypo plug in problem

I have installed Xtypo in joomla and it is working really well. However, I would like to make some changes to the CSS. I have managed to do this in both the Prostar template editor.css file in the CSS folder and also in the backend under .css in the themes directory. However, for some reason my CSS is not being recognised when I try and use it in the article manager. Do I need to make any other changes elsewhere?
