latest news + link to file instead to an article
- Posted by dc03kks (12) Offline
Hi I m using for a client site the amazing latest news +, is working fine and super.
The client asked me if it is possible when we click the article title to link to file instead to article...
I mean when we click the title from the list with all the article titles to link directly to a file instead of having 2 clicks to open a file,,,
I hope you understand the question,
Thank you in advance, any help would be really appreciated

Hi, Could you tell me what file you are referring? Can you let me know the URL of your site so I can take a look?

Hi,
thank you for your response,
yes just go to the reference link
and for example clickto the 29/10/2015
Συνεδριαση επιτροπης ποιοτητας ζωης 29-10-2015
the article
Συνεδριαση επιτροπης ποιοτητας ζωης 29-10-2015
as a content has a link that link to a file...
the question is that is it possible to click
29/10/2015
Συνεδριαση επιτροπης ποιοτητας ζωης 29-10-2015
and directly open the file ,,,instead of getting to the article and then a 2nd click to the link with the file..
I hope its clear enough,
Once again thank you..

Ah, so it's a link inside your article. How did you add the link? Did you add it manually inside the editor or using the link fields inside the Image and link tab in the content editor?

Hi , thank you for your response, i have added inside the article using the editor.
But i did it also like u suggested in the Image and link tab and it doed exactly the same thing..
And as i already mentioned i just want when it clicks the title of the article to open directly the file...
Is this possible ?

Hi, it is not possible if you add the links via the editor and yes it is possible if you add them via Image and Link tab, but still it will need a quite a lot of php code changes. Anyway, I think it's better to use file management component just like phoca download or docman rather than using joomla articles. Any reason why you are using joomla article to manage the files?
