Hi, I have made some changes to your module setting and it shows the thumbnail right now. Please check

Most of latest news item doesn't generate thumbnail because you place the image inside the full text while the module will only search image that is manually placed in the introtext section, not in the full text section.
There are two workarounds for this :
1. You can use the
Full Article Image field to define the image for full text. See

2. If you don't want to do that, you can edit the file modules/mod_latestnewsplusdate//mod_latestnewsplusdate.php at line 71 youw ill see this code
