Version 5.0.1 - 05-10-25
- Fixed webp issue causes crash
Is that exactly the problem? Will the paid version solve this problem?

Yes, some users have reported crash issues with the webp image format in Joomla 5, and yes, that version includes a fix for the issue.I've been using your module for a very long time. Previously, everything worked fine and the thumbnails were created without problems. In addition, you released an update for the module on October 5th.:

It's a little unclear... So, previously everything worked even in the free version, but after you made corrections, it stopped working. And now it only works in the free version???Then, can I just use the old version?Yes, some users have reported crash issues with the webp image format in Joomla 5, and yes, that version includes a fix for the issue.

Yes, you can always use the old version. When you extract the package, you’ll find a file named mod_minifrontpagepro_j3_legacy.zip, you can use that file. It’s actually the previous version of Minifrontpage, which also supports Joomla 4 and 5. The only difference is that you’ll need to enable the BC (Backward Compatibility) plugin. Then, can I just use the old version?
I’ve compared the current minifrontpage (free) codebase with the old one, and it seems I accidentally added webp support to the free version in the past (probably due to some code being copy-pasted) And when updating to version 5, however, the fix reverted it back to the previous state where webp is not supported in the free version
I think I will re-add the webp support to the free version in the future, but I don’t have an ETA at the moment, as I’m currently focusing on improving several extensions, especially to ensure compatibility with Joomla 6. For now, until that update is released, you can continue using the old version.
Sorry for the inconvenience

Unfortunately, I am unable to purchase the PRO version at this time. I am located in Russia, and PayPal and other foreign payment systems do not operate in our country.
I will endeavour to find a way to pay for the order, but I cannot promise that it will be successful.
Thank you for your prompt response and clarification.
