Can you try to disable the reponsive banner module to see whether it's conflicted with your slide js or not?

As soon as I put the removed jquey.min.js back in the template folder it works but then the responsive banner slider stops working. :(

I wasn't sure at first but I removed the code by cutting this line from the index.php from the template:
script type="text/javascript" src="?php echo $this->baseurl ?/templates/?php echo $this->template ?/js/jquery.min.js"</script>
It still refuses to slide though.

Yes, to put back the jQuery won't work as it will load jQuery twice again. I think you should contact your template developer and ask them about how to resolve the multiple jquery load issue.
Or before that you, might want to try this plugi first extensions.joomla.org/extensions/core-en...jquery-scripts/18327 .
